Fellowship Profile
Professional Biography
I am a graduate student in a Master of Public Policy program with a focus on environmental policy and community-centered governance. Through my academic work, I have examined how climate policy and regulatory systems shape outcomes for historically marginalized communities. Professionally, I have experience in both renewable energy and clinical research settings, where I developed skills in stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and translating technical information into actionable insights. In the renewable energy sector, I worked closely with communities impacted by development projects, supporting outreach efforts that emphasized transparency, inclusion, and meaningful local input. This experience deepened my understanding of how policy decisions affect communities on the ground.
In clinical trials, I supported research operations and saw how regulatory frameworks influence access to care and participation. I am particularly interested in policy approaches that prioritize equity, strengthen community voice, and support a more sustainable future.
Statement of Interest
I am pursuing a career in public policy because I see it as one of the most effective ways to shape systems that directly impact people’s daily lives. My experiences in renewable energy and clinical trials showed me how policy decisions influence everything from infrastructure investment to access to essential services.
Through my MPP program, I have developed a strong interest in state and local policymaking, particularly where economic, environmental, and social priorities intersect. This internship is an opportunity to build practical experience in the policymaking process while contributing to work that supports an equitable and sustainable future. I am especially motivated by the opportunity to help advance policies that strengthen Illinois communities, expand access, and ensure long-term resilience.
Fun Fact
Outside of my academic and professional work, I am a trapeze artist who performs and instructs locally in Chicago, blending strength, precision, and creativity. This experience has strengthened my discipline, risk awareness, and ability to perform under pressure.
